Symposium Success
I think the biggest disaster of the Symposium was this European’s attempt at making a hamburger using two hotdog buns.
I worked 12 hours the day before, 14 hours the first day, slept in the Dino Lab, and then worked 10 hours the second day. I had some amazing help both days and enjoyed the Symposium much more than the days leading up to it thanks completely to them.
While I didn’t have to do much once we were on the road, the field trip was nonetheless strenuous. But we found ways of dealing with the 100° heat.
Actually, they were collecting fossils from that layer—it was just a bonus there was water on it.
After we returned home, I showered and promptly left for a thank-you-for-helping-us-move party. I proceeded to celebrate with all kinds of indulgences including a midnight swim in the lake with friends including the hamburgler pictured above.
